CORONA DISCHARGE ION MOBILITY SPECTROMETRY AS A GOOD TECHNIQUE FOR PHTHALATES DETECTION.

In recent years phthalates have been accused of showing negative impact on human health. Breast cancer in females or mental and motor development in children can be caused by long term exposure on phthalates. So it is important to have a good tool to detect them rapidly even at very low concentrations. In many laboratories research groups have been studying phthalates using different methods. The most common technique that phthalate esters were investigated is gas chromatography coupled with mass spectrometry (GC-MS), [1][2]. Recently Midey et al. present some results where high-performance ion mobility spectrometry with direct electrospray ionization (ESI-HPIMS) was used to detect some phthalates [3].
近年來,鄰苯二甲酸鹽被指控對人類健康產生負面影響。長期接觸鄰苯二甲酸鹽可導致女性乳腺癌或兒童智力和運動發育。因此,有一個好的工具來快速檢測它們是很重要的,即使在非常低的濃度。在許多實驗室,研究小組一直在用不同的方法研究鄰苯二甲酸鹽。研究鄰苯二甲酸酯類化的方法是氣相色譜-質譜聯用(GC-MS),[1][2]。近Midey等人。本文介紹了用直接電噴霧電離高性能離子遷移率光譜法(ESI-HPIMS)檢測鄰苯二甲酸鹽的一些結果[3]。
In our laboratory five phthalates have been investigated using corona discharge ion mobility spectrometry (CD-IMS) at atmospheric pressure. Benzyl butyl phthalate, diphenyl isophthalate, diphenyl phthalate, ditridecyl phthalate and dimethyl isophthalate have been measured and limits of detection (LOD’s) were determined. Chemicals which we have studied are characterized by very low vapour pressures, for example vapour pressure of benzyl butyl phthalate is 2·10-4 Pa [4], which means that these are non-volatile compounds and detection in gas phase can be difficult. For that particular phthalates LOD obtained in our laboratory is tens of ppt.
在我們的實驗室中,使用電暈放電離子遷移率光譜法(CD-IMS)在大氣壓下對五種鄰苯二甲酸鹽進行了研究。測定了鄰苯二甲酸芐丁酯、間苯二甲酸二苯酯、鄰苯二甲酸二苯酯、鄰苯二甲酸二異癸酯和間苯二甲酸二甲酯的檢出限。我們所研究的化學物質具有很低的蒸氣壓,例如鄰苯二甲酸芐丁酯的蒸氣壓為2·10-4pa[4],這意味著它們是非揮發性化合物,在氣相中很難檢測。對于這種特殊的鄰苯二甲酸鹽,在我們實驗室得到的LOD是幾十ppt。
