1.General
PON Optical Power Meter is a developed power meter targeted at the FTTX design, application and maintenance. It can simultaneously test the signal of the voice, data and video. It is an ideal test instrument for the PON projects and for the construction and maintenance of FTTX.

4.1 Key Instruction

5.Usage Direction
5.1 Power On
Press key,Power on,
Three wavelength can be dispalyed simultaneously. 1310nm upstream and 1490/1550nm downstream.if there is light in optical channel,test value will be displayed, if there is no light,indicates“LOW” if it displayed icon” “ in the top left hand corner, warn to switch off automatically in ten minutes.press key to set auto off in ten minutes, and press key again to cancel it.
5.2 Power Off
when power meter is on,press key for 2 seconds,then powered off.
5.3 Function Setting
5.3.1 press key into the Menu setting,the unit of test value can be optional (dBm、mW、dB)
5.3.2 Press key again into threashold setting(1-10 groups can be optional), press once,the value increase 0.05dB;press once,decrease 0.05dB.
5.3.3 Press“SAVE”key to save the current record,press key to exit,back to main interface.
5.4 Usage instruction
5.4.1 Press key to turn on optical power meter, press key for short time to select if it will auto off or not in ten minutes,then enter into menu to choose threshold.
5.4.2 Access to measured fiber, can simultaneously measurement three wavelength 1310nm upstream,1490nm、1550nm downstream,for example,
THRESHOLD 01(+3dBm,-10dBm,-30dBm),The test result :1310nm upstream power meter value is +1dBm,The threshold in the range between +3 and -10dBm,it is normal, so the color of 1310nm power value is green; If the threshold between -10dBm and -30dBm,it means some problem in the fiber but it still works, so the color of 1310nm power value is yellow; If the test value is not in the range, That is,>+3dBm or <-30dBm,it means there is problem in the fiber ,too strong ,or too weak. So the color is red. And the same principle with 1490nm、1550nm.
